The first issue in a series of digital comics has been released relating to Max Payne 3. The graphic novel is written by Sam Lake (the writer of the first two games) and Dan Houser (writer of the Grand Theft Auto series). You can either download the comic in PDF format or read it online.

Sure it does. Now it makes the movie not-make-any-sense more (B.B saying that Max's father was a cop and he was all noble and shit).

But, back to the comic itself, I really enjoyed it, the draw is preety well made (altho I'd prefer the old graphic novel styling we've seen in MP1 atleast). As I mentioned, the part with his childhood is preety kewl (especially it's ending, that was hardcore). And again, we see that Max's trouble start with a women again (the chick at the bar Max tries to save) and then you get Fabiana etc.

As for the Bravura ad, Max said "and there's my boss... which I was due to meet later". I wonder what it means. Will we see him in the second part or ingame? We still don't know what happened to Max directly after MP2 (he did kill Winterson and Bravura seems to be the only one that knows it).

I'm anxious to see the next part!

It's amazing to me how good this comic actually was. The fact that Max says he was "cheating" on his wife with Mona lol... like damn. That hit me hard. And so he killed his dad right?

Not sure really. As you can see, there's a writing on the gun that says "Gun Replica" on it, so not sure if he could actually shoot anyone with it...

Oh I didn't notice that, but you're right. That answers that.

The comic really really exceeded my expectations. The look it's painted in is absolutely cool and amazing at the same time I think and even nightmares are in the comic. Nightmares with scenes from Max Payne 1 and Max's childhood, not good as it looks. The story is pretty cool as it changes the time almost with each page but still keeps a connection, so you get to understand what's going on, perhaps it will not be that easy to follow for the ones who have never played Max Payne before but it should be great though. The scenes with Max's father Jack Payne were the most interesting ones from issue #1 I think. I personally think that Max hasn't killed his father. I mean he was a chield, no even Max couldn't have done it, but maybe he wanted revenge for his mothers death, Helene Payne who obviously had a though time with her husband, Jack. Was Jack responsible for Helenes death in some way, we know from the comic that he punched her a lot of times .... aaaaaaaaargh that all makes me so interesting, I need to read the next issue now. So lots of questions, for somehow this comic even opened more mysteries for us to solve rather than solving some, for example what happened with Max after Max Payne 2, et cetera. ... and killed the wrong people. Winterson was the wrong person to kill, I mean she shot Max, she hurted him a lot, wasn't she the villain for all the time? or was it another one? .... Give me answers Rockstar!

BTW the scene at the cemetery ... nostalgia pure!

This comic was great. It was a tad bit short but im not complaining cause its free which is surprising..I printed out all the pages and made my own comic out of it lol. I really liked the art style and the way the comic doesnt have much action just focuses on his past and lets you really get to know all the reasons hes so down and depressed throughout all 3 games. Im surprised hes just now getting a comic, i figured he would of had one back in the day cause of the comic panels in the first 2 games but i guess 3rd times a charm to start something as awesome as a comic series.
