Pretty low minimum requirements.

Yeah, pretty sure it would be a slideshow with those.

Yeah, these are pretty low, but I think these are the minimum specs. Also I saw someone saying, " 16gb ram!? lolwat shitty port again"

It's a range from 2 to 16 isn't it?

rockstarrem 23rd April, 2012 @ 15:33 - Permalink
Yeah it's a range, obviously. 2 is the bare minimum and 16 is the recommended I guess.

16 is the reccomended? Lolwat, I doubt that, I think 16 may be like the limit in which effects the range, my guess for a recommendation is around 4 - 6gb ram.

Sorry it's off topic but when's the hands on review going to be released?

Yeah, maybe 16 is what it can utilize I suppose.

And we're waiting for Rockstar to let us know when we can post the review.

Gah, I'm eager to read it. Do you have steam or something where I can ask questions about it? Or are you not allowed to anwser questions?

You can create a topic in the Max Payne 3 forum with some questions you'd like to ask, I'll see if I can answer them now and if I can't then I will when I get permission.

35GB must be a lot of detail, the minimum specs will probably not have all that, but as long the game is still enjoyable at the lower specs, I'll take it.

As expected my PC can't run this game properly. So I'll stick with a PS3 copy as always. Wow, 35 GB is a lot of space, though I think it's more a protection against peer-to-peer rather then necessarily needed for all the content.

16 must be the setting R* plays with but I do think that every setting up to 8GB RAM is doing fine, pretty fine.

It's bad that there isn't coming out a demo with at least one playable level for Max Payne 3, because it would make it a lot easier to see if the PC can handle the game or not. But well, R* doesn't make demos for a lot of games, so I think it's not a big surprise they did not for Max Payne 3 either. Let's just see how it runs on all the different PC settings.

Pretty low minimum requirements.

low? Well, at least they posted the range of settings where Max Payne 3 should be playable on. I think with 2GB RAM and with a really bad graphics card you will not be happy playing the game because it won't look good at all.

I wonder if they'll make this game downloadable, sort of like via Steam or some other downloading service. (Just read that it will be on steam) I can imagine how long it would take even on a relatively fast connection to download 35GB's. Otherwise it looks like CD/DVD will be the way to go, or several perhaps. Even on a 70Mbit connection, it still would take 1 hour or so, and thats if it sustains its maximum theoretical speed.

I don't own a console though, is it really possible for them to stick 35GB's into a single disk? Especially if the game is meant to seamlessly load from level to level.

PS3 uses Blurays. And please mind, that the game weighs 35gb only on PC. I reckon the Xbox one will be somewhat cut, since they'll have to stick it onto 2 Doublelayers, which have 8gb per one.

The fact that Xbox version will come with multiple discs was quite sure before they even made it official but the fact that the PC version needs at least 35 GB of free space on the hard drive was to be honest ... not expected. I think that Rockstar just artificial ballooned the space required to stand against piracy. Otherwise it would not be possible that the Xbox comes with 2 DVDs, which is an amount of up to 16 GBs. With further consoles I would make blu-ray drive as standard as it is the most easiest one in terms of space.

It sure is that way. I can hardly believe that those extra, better looking textures and graphical tweaks will take up to 15gb...

As for Xbox, I'm sure they'll split SP and MP onto both discs. That's the only logical way of doing it, changing the disc midgame in order to continue would be silly.

In case Rockstar has stated that one DVD will contain the whole multiplayer part as well as single player 1/2. 2nd DVD therefore contains single player 2/2. There's no way to play the story in one go for Xbox owners, sadly. But Rockstar rest assured that the point, where they've set the break for changing to DVD 2 was taken wisely to not destroy the single player experience.

Yeah, I'm also very glad I'm a PS3 owner. I would be not pleased with changing the disc while being in an epic play session. The point of change can be taken as care as possible, I think it still does destroy the feeling a little bit, especially if you play through the story in one go, which I refuse not to do. I want to change from single player to multiplayer from time to time to be active in both sides of the game. But if the story gets me in too much, I won't be able to stand playing it in one go from the very first minute, from the minute Max's voice appears ...

Same. I really like the idea of Multiplayer in this game and after seeing it in action, it feels wicked. But what I love in this series is the story, so I won't give that up so easily.

In that case, we should hook up on PSN and play a match after we both finish the game. :) My ID is homerusek, so feel free to add me!

Wait, wait ... no way I go skipping or give up the story. I just want to change from time to time to stay at the latest in both modes, multiplayer as well as single player. But I'm quite sure that the story is that perfect again that I will play it in one go, Rockstar never fails in doing epic stories!

For sure I'll add you, but for now I can't because my PS3 is at service. I do hope I have it back right in time of the Max Payne 3 release, otherwise I'll start playing the game on my friends PC. We'd better arrange that you add me for now, I accept your invite if I'm back online, ok? My ID is: emmi18176860

Cheers!
